At 10 a.m. take a snapshot of your Utah CTE Moment

Mark your calendars! Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. is the first annual “Utah CTE Moment.” Teachers and students across the state will stop for a moment and take a picture of a CTE moment showing the hands-on kind of learning that takes place every day in CTE classrooms. In Utah, more than 141,600 ninth- through twelfth-grade students participate in CTE training.

According to Mary Shumway, State Director of Career and Technical Education, “Through the first annual CTE Moment we are looking forward to capturing photos of CTE students throughout the state who participate daily in hands-on experiences in numerous CTE Pathways. Through participation in a rigorous CTE Pathway students become college and career ready by developing academic and technical skills to compete in a global economy.”

The photos from the “Utah CTE Moment” will be compiled and showcased, as a slideshow posted on the Utah CTE YouTube channel and on the Utah CTE Facebook gallery, so the community can gain a better understanding of today’s CTE.

The Utah CTE blog outlines the details for the first annual “Utah CTE Moment.” The school that sends in the most photos wins! The CTE Moment is just one of many events planned to celebrate national Career and Technical Education month. More information about Utah’s participation in national CTE month is here.
