Utah State Board of Education meets this week

The Utah State Board of Education will meet in a training session and will hold committee meetings on Thursday, April 7. The regularly scheduled, monthly board meeting will take place the follow day, on Friday, April 8.

The Board wishes to draw particular attention to the following:

  • 17 new or amended Board rules affecting areas such as distribution of classroom supply funds, student assessment, educator licensing, school community councils, regional service centers, school discipline plans, concurrent enrollment, patriotic education, and funding for the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program.
  • A report on the 2011 general session of the Utah Legislature.
  • A resolution honoring the Sorenson Legacy Foundation.
