What:
First Lady Jeanette Herbert will participate in a reading event with the Intermountain Therapy Animals (I.T.A.) R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) program. Previously, Mrs. Herbert donated books (LaRue Across America, by Mark Teague) to Copperview Elementary, a Title I school. The event will be attended by 30 to 40 first-grade students, I.T.A R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) Teams, I.T.A administration and school administration.

Background:
R.E.A.D. is a program of the Intermountain Therapy Animals (I.T.A.) and improves children’s reading and communication skills by allowing them to read to a dog. The objective is to create a relaxed, comfortable, safe, nonjudgmental and empowering reading environment.
