HB430 Classified School Employee Amendments  — Rep. Bradley Daw (R-Orem)

  • WHAT: This bill provides that, for purposes of determining retirement benefits provided under the Utah State Retirement and Benefit Insurance Act, a regular full-time employee does not include a classified school employee: who is hired on or after July 1, 2012, and does not receive benefits normally provided by the participating employer; or who is hired before July 1, 2012, who does not receive benefits normally provided by the participating employer, and whose employment hours are increased on or after July 1, 2012; and makes technical changes.
  • WHEN: HB430 is on the agenda for this morning’s House Retirement and Independent Entities Committee meeting. The committee is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. in Room 30 of the House Building in the Utah State Capitol Complex.

HB231S1 Guardianship Amendments — Rep. Kraig Powell (R-Heber City)

  • WHAT: This bill defines terms; requires a specialized care professional to be certified by the Center for Guardianship Certification; requires guardians to file a management plan within 90 days of appointment; and makes technical corrections. This bill takes effect January 1, 2013.
  • WHEN: The House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear HB231S1 this morning. The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. in Room 20 of the House Building in the Utah State Capitol Complex.
