Educational Equity board seeks Nominees

Looking for an opportunity to serve your community or know of someone who would like to?

The Coalition of Minorities Advisory Committee (CMAC) is seeking nominees to fill upcoming vacancies. The committee’s role is to advise the Utah State Board of Education on the educational needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students in Utah.

The following vacancies will open Dec. 31 :photo collage of minority students

  • American Indian representative – 1 vacancy
  • Asian-American representative – 1 vacancy
  • Hispanic/Latino representatives – 2 vacancies
  • Pacific Islander-American representative – 1 vacancy

The five vacant positions are two-year terms. The 15-member committee is made up of three representatives from each ethnic group.

Nominees will be contacted to confirm their willingness to accept a nomination. Also they will be asked for a short biography. The compiled list of nominees and biographies will be submitted to the Utah State Board of Education. Board members will make the appointments by the November meeting.
