One of the resources the Utah State Office of Education supports for teachers is the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC) digital library of resources. This is a great resource for those who are developing curriculum or selecting available curricular items for their classrooms.
As you may be unfamiliar with the resource and what it can do for you, and how teachers may use it, you may be interested in the invitation to a webinar below. You may also want to distribute this to other teachers. There are assets in this repository for all subject areas.
On Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m., the Utah Education Network will host a webinar about digital learning resources available from the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC). This webinar will explain what kinds of resources are available from NROC at the UEN HippoCampus website as well as eMedia.
NROC provides high-quality, media-rich courses that are adaptable. With rich content mapped to state and federal standards, NROC courses can be used with or without a textbook to enhance online, blended and face-to-face learning environments.
UEN, the Utah State Office of Education and the Technology Intensive Concurrent Enrollment (TICE) project have partnered together to bring this high-quality content to Utah. This content is available as a full course you can import into Canvas or individual pieces you can use to craft or supplement your own courses.
The webinar will be held using Wimba. Here’s the information to join: (Please plan on joining 5-10 minutes in advance to make sure Wimba is working properly on your computer.)
