Utah Jazz and CenturyLink Team up to Honor Outstanding Teachers
SALT LAKE CITY – CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) is partnering with the Utah Jazz to establish the CenturyLink All-Star Teacher Award program to recognize and reward five outstanding Utah K-12 teachers. CenturyLink and the Utah Jazz will select one teacher each month from November through March to receive an award package. Nominees will be evaluated on their excellence in teaching and inspiring students to succeed.
Monthly winners of the All-Star Teacher Award will receive a $1,000 cash prize for their school’s general fund, two tickets for an upcoming Jazz game for the winning teacher and their guest and an on-court award presentation during half time. The person who nominated the winning teacher will also receive two tickets to the Jazz game.
A grand prize winner, selected from among the five monthly winners, will be awarded a $5,000 cash prize for their school’s general fund, a catered suite for 12 and an on-court award presentation during an upcoming Jazz game and a pep rally for their school featuring Jazz Bear and the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers.

CenturyLink’s All-Star Teacher Award program is open to the entire state, and any individual 13 years or older can nominate a teacher by writing and submitting an essay detailing why their exceptional teacher nominee deserves to win at www.utahjazz.com/centurylink. Self-nominations are not allowed under this program.




She is, by far, the best English teacher ever! She deserves to be recognized.
I would like to nominate my daughter, Jennifer Waters. She is a teacher at Orchard Hills Elementary in Santaquin. She teaches severely disabled students. She is in a UEI unit containing 12 very special students with physical and mental disabilities. She is especially kind and understanding. She and her husband Shane Waters are the parents of six children. Shane is also a teacher at Spanish Fork Jr. High in geology. He also teaches at Spanish Fork High with the satellite program of UVU. Shane also teaches morning class of geology on Saturday at UVU. Jennifer is a person who loves children regardless of their limitations. She offers these students a variety of activities that will be helpful in their future lives. She has four aides that love and adore Jennifer and her special students.
