International Education Initiatives

The Utah State Office of Education  in partnership with the Utah Education Network is developing on-line courses that specifically focus on bringing the 21st century world into the classroom, with an emphasis on curricular connections for 6th grade teachers as well as world civilizations teachers.

We are always looking for great examples of ways teachers have already made the connection to the world and whose classroom work would serve as a great case study.

If you have an international education story to tell, we would love to hear it, and there will be stipends available for those teachers we profile. We have also created an International Ed mailing list https://lists.uen.org/mailman/listinfo/intledusoe

In other news, last Friday the U.S. Department of Education’s ED’s Office of International Affairs officially published on its website a document outlining the Department’s international strategy: “Succeeding Globally Through International Education and Engagement: the U.S. Department of Education’s International Strategy for 2012-16.”
