These bills have been passed by both the Senate and the House. Once they are signed by the Senate president and the speaker of the House, a  final version will be prepared before they are sent to the governor for his  decision.

HB24S1 Utah Retirement System Amendments — D. Ipson This bill modifies the Utah State Retirement and Insurance Benefit Act by amending its provisions.

HB58S1 Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act — P. Ray This bill modifies Title 26, Chapter 53, Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act, by amending definitions.

HB64 Felon’s Right to Hold Office — C. Moss This bill prohibits an individual convicted of certain sexual offense from holding certain offices. The Utah State Board of Education supported this bill.

HB99S2 Submitting Governmental Reports — P. Arent This bill revises requirements relating to the submission of governmental reports.

HB100S2 Internet Privacy Amendments — S. Barlow This bill modifies provisions addressing labor in general and higher education to enact protections for personal Internet accounts.

HB173 Necessarily Existent Small Schools Funding Amendments — K. Powell This bill provides that a portion of total necessarily existent small schools funding may be distributed in accordance with a formula that considers the tax effort of a local school board; and makes technical amendments. The Utah State Board of Education supported this bill.

HB194 State Employee Benefits Amendments — J. Dunnigan This bill modifies the Utah State Personnel Management Act by amending provisions relating to state employee benefits.

HB201 State Board of Education Leadership Amendments — S. Eliason This bill amends provisions related to the election of State Board of Education leadership. The Utah State Board of Education supported this bill.

HB246 Expanded Uses of School District Property Tax Revenue — K. McIff This bill amends provisions related to certain uses of school district property tax revenue.

HB255 Classified School Employee Amendments — B. Last .This bill modifies the Utah State Retirement and Benefit Insurance Act by amending provisions relating to classified school employees.

HB269 Training of School Nurses — P. Ray This bill modifies Title 26, Chapter 53, Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act, and Title 53A, Chapter 6, Educator Licensing and Professional Practices Act, by clarifying the requirements of a school nurse engaged in treating a student who sustains a concussion or traumatic head injury.

HB278S1 Public School Seismic Studies — G. Froerer This bill imposes requirements on a school district regarding seismic safety evaluations of school buildings.

HB285 Modification of Education-related Reporting Requirements — F. Gibson This bill eliminates requirements to submit certain reports to the Education Interim Committee, the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee, and the governor.

HB298 Parent Seminar on Youth Protection – S. Eliason This bill modifies Title 53A, Chapter 15, Standards and Programs, by requiring the State Board of Education and school districts to implement a parent seminar on various issues. The Utah State Board of Education supported this bill.

SB1 Public Education Base Budget — H. Stephenson This bill appropriates funds for the support and operation of public education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013, and ending June 30, 2014.

SB10 Retirement Eligibility Amendments — T. Weiler This bill modifies the Utah State Retirement and Insurance Benefit Act by amending retirement eligibility provisions. PSH S

SB34 Special Election Date for Ballot Propositions — H. Stephenson This bill amends provisions related to the timing of a special election for certain ballot propositions.

SB43S1 Financial and Economic Literacy Education Amendments — P. Jones This bill modifies provisions relating to financial and economic literacy education. The Utah State Board of Education opposed this bill.

SB100 Higher Education Scholarship Amendments — J. Stevenson This bill modifies requirements related to certain higher education scholarships.

SB119 Youth Court Amendments — J. Stevenson This bill modifies provisions relating to Utah Youth Courts.

SB141 Education Contribution on Tax Returns — D. Thatcher This bill amends the Individual Income Tax Contribution Act to provide an individual income tax contribution for education.

SB162 Concurrent Enrollment Amendments — S. Urquhart This bill modifies provisions related to charging partial tuition for concurrent enrollment courses.

SB179 Local Government Financial Reporting Revisions — C. Bramble This bill modifies provisions relating to local government financial reports.
