Have a creative and new idea for a charter?

Listen up!

This year the legislature passed a law allowing for a speedy approval process to charter applications such as but not limited to:

  • A military charter school
  • A charter school whose mission is to enhance learning opportunities for students at risk of academic failure
  • A charter school whose focus is career and technical education
  • A single gender charter school
  • A charter school with an international focus that provides opportunities for the exchange of students and teachers

Any other new and creative models are encouraged.

Staff at the Utah State Office of Education has compiled all the information you’ll need to complete and submit your charter application. Charters approved would open in the 2014-2015 school year.
