The Utah State Board of Education’s School Trust Investment Task Force held its final meeting on July 16.
The task force was created to study the appropriate and prudent investment, oversight, process and structure of the State School Fund, which currently has a value of close to $1.5 billion.
Distributions from this fund are given annually to individual school community councils throughout the state to fund school needs established by those councils which are comprised primarily of parents.
The task force will present its recommendations on how to best manage the fund to the Board during the Board’s Aug. 2 meeting in Salt Lake City.
