Guest speakers shared research-based national best practices to address bullying and harassment in public schools.

Presenters:

Susan Payne, author and director of the Colorado Safe2Tell student bullying hotline. She talked about how the hotline was developed, how funding was obtained through the Colorado State Legislature, and shared data on how it is working.

Jan Perry Evenstad, Region VIII Equity Assistance Center (EAC), Professor of Secondary Education Linguistically Diverse, and K-12 Education, Metropolitan State University of Denver. Evenstad gave a presentation titled “Bully Prevention: Some Pieces of the Puzzle.”

Scott Ross, Special Education and Rehabilitation assistant professor at Utah State University, shared his own research and a Utah based  program: Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS).
