Deaf-Blind Projects Grant

Utah Special Education Advisory Panel (USEAP) seeks public inputThe Utah State Office of Education in coordination with Deaf-Blind Services of Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, has again been awarded a five year U. S. Department of Education Technical Assistance to State Deaf and Blind Projects grant. The Utah Deaf-Blind Project’s goals and associated activities are designed to:

  • deliver high-quality training and technical assistance;
  • promote advocacy efforts;
  • increase the use of evidence-based practices; and
  • develop and implement effective policies and procedures allowing improved services and results for children who are deaf-blind and their families.

The project will utilize innovative approaches to accomplish these goals including increasing connections and collaborative activities with the National Deaf-Blind Network, supporting parents in state and national advocacy, and promoting increasing community involvement, including involvement with the arts.
