The Business and Marketing Education specialist, at the Utah State Office of Education (USOE), is planning the 2016 Business and Marketing Education summer conference for Utah educators. The organizers of this conference invite YOU (Utah middle/junior high and high school students) to design the graphic for the conference. The graphic will be featured on the summer conference informational webpage, welcome poster, and thank you cards.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your talent and creativity as you design a unique graphic for the conference. Each entry will be judged by the state committee for Business and Marketing Education.

One entry will be selected. The winner will receive a one-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, generously donated by Adobe.
The winner will be announced by Monday, March 28, 2016.

Entry Requirements:
> Must be a Utah middle/junior high or high school student.
> Students entering the contest must be willing to sign the USOE/CTE media release, included on the entry form.
> Entry form can be found on the Business and Marketing Education webpage athttp://schools.utah.gov/CTE/business/DOCS/SC_GraphicsContest.aspx.
> Only one entry/design per student is permitted.

Graphic Design Specifications:
All entries to the contest must comply with the following design specifications.
> Use the theme “Power of the Past, Force of the Future.”
> The design must be scalable in both large and small formats.
> All entries must be rendered in color (full color or two color).
> Entries must be created in Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.
> Design must consist of completely original artwork. All copyright laws must be followed.
-NO clip-art or stock illustrations.
-NO copyrighted material.
-Typography must be licensed for free commercial use.
> All design elements must be unlocked (i.e. NO imported PDF files).
> Welcome poster: size 21″ x 32″
> Thank you card: size 8.5” x 5.5” (folded in half)

The student must keep a copy of his or her original design until results are announced in March. *Upon notification, the winner will be required to submit a CD/DVD of his or her artwork designed in Illustrator or InDesign.
> The winning design becomes the property of the USOE.
> USOE will not return any entries.
> USOE retains the right to make modifications to the final design as necessary.

The winning designer will be fully credited with his or her design. The winner’s name and picture will be featured during the conference.

Deadline:
All entries must be received (not postmarked) by the close of business on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

Submitting Your Design:
Mail or hand deliver the following: (1) the entry form, (2) a sample welcome poster printed in a smaller scale of 8.5” x 11″, and (3) a printed copy of the thank you card.
