Governor Appoints James Moss, Jr. to State Charter School Board

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah State Charter School Board announced today that Gov. Gary R. Herbert has named James R. Moss, Jr. to fill the position on the Board vacated by Greg Haws, who resigned earlier this year following a move to St. George.

Moss of Midway is a managing partner of the Salt Lake City law firm of Payne & Fears LLP. He is the son of the late James R. Moss who served as State Superintendent of Public Instruction from 1986 – 1990.

Moss will be sworn in during the State Charter School Board’s next meeting on September 14.

In 2017, 71,494 students attended Utah’s 127 charter schools.
