In its January 10, 2019 meeting the Utah State Board of Education:
- Reviewed both its funding priorities and policy priorities ahead of the 2019 general session of the Utah Legislature.
- Released the draft updates to the K-5 and 9-12 science standards for public review.
- Noted that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has released enough funding for child nutrition programs such as school lunch and school breakfast to continue functioning into March despite the partial federal government shutdown.
