This is the official blog for Utah’s K-12 public education. Come here for the latest news on the policies and programs that form the foundation for classroom learning. While a lot of attention is paid to what isn’t working in the nation’s public schools, here we celebrate what is working and point to challenges impeding innovation.

We hope you find the information on this blog insightful, useful and, at times, entertaining. We also hope you participate in the conversation. We moderate the comments section here to ensure we’re fostering a relevant, civil discourse and maintain a comment policy that reflects this. This is the same comment policy we maintain throughout our social media presence.

This blog is managed by Roxana Orellana. She also manages the Utah State Board of Education office social media sites on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome. Would you like to see a highlight of a student, educator or program at your school that we should include on the blog? Do you have a suggestion for how we reach out to our stakeholders? Email questions, comments or complaints to contact@schools.utah.gov.
