In its Dec. 7, 2017 meeting the Utah State Board of Education: Reelected Fillmore resident Mark Huntsman as chair. Brittney Cummins of West Valley City was elected first vice chair, and Heber City resident Alisa Ellis was elected as second vice chair. The new leadership will begin work in January 2018. Met with Lt. Gov. Spencer J. Cox about the Governor’s 10-year plan for education and with Utah System of Higher Education Chairman David L. Buhler about changes to the Regents’ Scholarship. Fillmore resident and businessman Mark Huntsman was elected Friday as the chair of the Utah State Board of Education for a one-year term beginning in January 2017.
