In its August 12, 2016 meeting, the Utah State Board of Education: • Voted to allow the new Academic Pathway to Teaching Level 1 License rule go into effect following a July 26 public hearing. The Board will look at amending the rule in September and will form a committee of its members to study educator licensing generally. • Directed State Superintendent Sydnee Dickson to begin setting up work groups with education stakeholders as Utah begins putting together its state plan for the new federal Every Student Succeeds Act. • Received a report from the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation noting that there is now funding available to provide vocational rehabilitation services to an additional 2,300 Utahns with disabilities. . . . → Read More
